Liquid Theatre was created in 2002 by Artistic Directors  Mark Bell and Matthew Peover.

Liquid has had a very successful relationship with BAC in London where they produced their first four shows.  After gaining ACE funding in 2007 the company embarked on an ambitious project with writer Fin Kennedy to write a modern Jacobean Tragedy;  the resulting play 'Chimeras' has had readings at the Old Vic and Lyric Hammersmith in London and is currently awaiting production.

The company's last show,a new play 'Colliery Row' developed in association with Northern Stage and Arts Centre Washington, was performed in July 2011 at ACW. The company ceased work in 2013.
